Through entertaining and thought-provoking programs, the MAC connects lifelong learners with the visual and performing arts, history and cultures, and creative crafts-making. From talks and tours to films, art workshops, and live performances, there is something for almost every interest. Led by talented artists, scholars, and enthusiasts, each program offers a chance to spark your creativity, share meaningful experiences, and discover something new.

Our Stories: YWCA HerStory

MUSEUM ADMISSION & EVENT ARE FREE
Experience Spokane’s rich history through the women who shaped our local YWCA over 123 years. HerStory honors survivors of intimate partner domestic violence, whose voices carry the YWCA’s legacy forward. Enjoy performances, interactive storytelling, music, food, community booths, and a StoryWalk featuring survivor poetry and artwork inspired by their words.
Art History Lecture Series:
Hudson River School and American Exceptionalism
Sunday, October 4, 2–3 pm
FREE, Suggested $10 Donation
In the 19th century, artists painted the American landscape as a symbol of the nation’s beauty, greatness, and promise. This lecture with Dr. Meredith Shimizu explores how these paintings both reflected and reinforced ideas about American identity and exceptionalism.
Selkirk Quintet
Wednesday, October 7, 6:30 pm, doors at 6 pm
FREE and Open to the Public
Enjoy an evening of live chamber music with Spokane’s Selkirk Wind Quintet held in the MAC’s auditorium. Featuring works from the 18th and 20th centuries, the program is inspired by themes of courtly life. The concert is co-sponsored by Music Performance Trust Fund.
